When you’re facing the challenges of a high-risk pregnancy, finding a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) provider who will truly listen isn’t always easy. At Lancaster Maternal Fetal Medicine, we believe excellent care starts with connection, compassion, and communication. From your first phone call to your last appointment, our approach is designed to make you feel heard, supported, and cared for.
A Commitment to Communication
We operate with an open-door policy. If you have a question or concern, we will always make time for you. When you call our office, you won’t be lost in an endless automated system—you’ll speak to a real person who understands the importance of your pregnancy and can get you the help you need right away. For us, communication isn’t just part of care—it is care.
Imaging That Sets Us Apart
Our sonographers are among the most highly trained in the region, with top-level certification from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). Every scan—whether 2D, 3D, or 4D—is performed with expertise and precision.
In fact, Dr. Christian Macedonia, one of our physicians, produced the world’s first 3D ultrasound image of a living fetus in 1991 while working at the NIH. That pioneering spirit continues today, as we bring families the clearest, most detailed imaging possible. Our technology is second to none, but what matters most is how we use it: to guide decisions, monitor development, and give parents peace of mind.

Care Shaped by Compassion and Experience
Many of our patients come to us after experiences with pregnancy loss, preterm birth, or medical complications. We bring both compassion and determination to every case, helping families create a plan for the healthiest outcome possible.
Both of our physicians have personal experience with high-risk pregnancies in their own families. They understand firsthand the anxiety that comes with uncertainty, and they bring that empathy into every patient interaction.
Personalized Appointments, Never Rushed
As a small, independent, family-owned practice, we are not bound by the time limits imposed at larger institutions. This allows us to give you the time and attention you deserve. Every pregnancy is unique, and so are the conversations we have with you. Our goal is for you to leave each visit feeling informed, reassured, and confident in your care plan.
Coordinated, Comprehensive Support
At Lancaster MFM, your care doesn’t happen in isolation. We work closely with your obstetrician and other specialists to ensure that every aspect of your health is addressed. Whether you’re dealing with medical conditions like diabetes or hypertension, carrying multiples, or planning for a baby with specialized needs, we coordinate care in a way that centers you and your family.
We also offer pre-pregnancy counseling, helping individuals and couples plan for a safe and healthy pregnancy even before conception.

A Veteran-Owned Practice With Global Perspective
Dr. Macedonia proudly served 27 years in the U.S. Army, taking part in humanitarian missions on six continents. That service informs our philosophy of care: to meet people where they are, with respect, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting life.
Listening Saves Lives
We believe in the power of a mother’s intuition. If something doesn’t feel right to you, we take it seriously. Every concern is worth attention, and every question deserves an answer. Active listening isn’t just good medicine—it’s lifesaving medicine.
No Referral Needed
In Pennsylvania, you have the right to choose your prenatal care provider. At Lancaster MFM, you don’t need a referral to make an appointment. Whether you are thinking about pregnancy, already pregnant, or navigating a high-risk diagnosis, you can decide for yourself where to receive the best care.
The Heart of Our Difference
At the end of the day, what sets Lancaster MFM apart isn’t just our technology, training, or credentials—it’s how we treat you. We care for you as a whole person, not just a patient chart. We listen, we partner, and we honor the trust you place in us. To be part of your pregnancy journey—whether high-risk or routine—is our greatest privilege.
